Research Proposal on The impact and effectiveness of strategic planning in public sector organizations: A case study of Ghana Standards Board
Rationale The rationale of research will be best suited for strategic planning undertaken by public organizations particular on Ghana's Standards Board and the presence of information based analysis as noted by several secondary resources centering on strategic planning stature. The impact of planning on organizational performance in the public sector has been widely debated but has never previously been tested empirically. The need to develop statistical model of planning effects that contain variables of extent of organizational analysis, extent of environmental scanning, number of precise performance targets, existence of formal action plans for service improvement and attitudes of staff involved in the planning process. To show evidence that Ghana standards board is positively related to favorable attitudes towards planning processes, but negatively related to the number of targets that are set.
